One crew, one number, one beautifully lit property. Install, service, takedown, and storage.
A lot of companies say "full service" and then leave you stuck pulling lights down in the freezing rain on January 8th. We don't work that way. When we say full service, we mean everything from the first design walk-through in October to the empty roofline on takedown day, plus the storage bin tucked into our warehouse until next November.
Here's the actual sequence on a typical job. We come out for a free consultation, walk the property, take measurements, and listen to what you want. We send back a sketch and a quote within 24 hours. If it works for you, we schedule the install. Our crew shows up on the agreed date, hangs the lights to plan, fires it up while we're there to make sure every bulb is lit, and walks you through the timer settings. If anything goes out mid-season, we come back. After the holidays, we return on a date you pick and pull everything down. If you're storing with us, we take it back to the warehouse, sort it on labeled racks, and pull your exact bins out next year.
No two homes are alike. The Cape Cod in East Lansing wants something different than the Tudor in Bloomfield Hills or the lakefront cottage on Reeds Lake. Our designers walk your property in daylight, look at sight lines from the street, and figure out what makes your home shine. Some properties are best with a clean roofline outline. Others want trees wrapped from trunk to tip, garland on the porch railings, and oversized wreaths on the front windows. We bring options.
If you have an HOA with rules, we know how to work inside them. If you want to win the neighborhood lights contest, we'll lay out a plan that does it.
Our standard install uses commercial-grade LED, which is a different animal from the strands you find at the hardware store. Heavier wire, replaceable bulbs, sealed sockets, and color consistency between strands. The bulbs are rated for five to seven seasons of Michigan winters. Pure white, warm white, multi-color, and red-and-green are all options. We also stock specialty lights for specific looks.
Most of the work happens before any lights touch the house. We measure linear feet, count outlets, plan around tree branches that might need to come down, and identify any electrical issues that need to be solved before install day. If your home doesn't have an exterior outlet where the lights need to go, we can sometimes work with an extension solution. If it needs to be hardwired, we'll let you know and you can have your electrician handle that piece.
We start hanging lights right after Halloween. Most installs happen between November 1 and December 5. The earlier you book, the better the date selection. By mid-November the calendar is usually full for the season.
Takedowns run from January 2 through the end of the month. We'll set your takedown date when we set your install date so it's locked in.
If a strand goes out, a bulb dies, or a strong wind pulls something loose, we come back. Mid-season service is included on every full-service install. Just call or text and we'll get you back on the schedule, usually within a few days.
Tell us about your property. We'll come out, measure, and send back a free design and quote within 24 hours.
